Salima Murad (February 2, 1905 - January 28, 1974) was an Iraqi singer born in Baghdad's Tataran neighborhood. She is considered one of the prominent figures in Iraqi music and was the first woman to receive the title of Pasha. Influenced by the music of Baghdad, she collaborated with notable poets and composers, including Abdul Karim Al-Allaf and Saleh Al-Kuwaiti. Salima gained recognition after her encounter with the famous singer Umm Kulthum. She was also among the first artists to broadcast on the radio, hosting literary gatherings in her home.
