Sakaria Zaa Nashandi is a Namibian politician and businessman born on 8 July 1949 in Onayena. He is recognized as a National Hero for his contributions to Namibia's independence and was an ex-political prisoner on Robben Island. Nashandi was actively involved in the Ovamboland People's Congress, a precursor to SWAPO, and has multiple small businesses in Onayena. He was married to Kauna Nashandi, who served as the mayor of Ondangwa until her death in Windhoek in 2013.
