Saioa Villanueva Zarandona is a Spanish politician from Sopelana, born on January 3, 1981. She is associated with the Basque nationalist ideology. Villanueva served as the mayor of Sopelana from June 11, 2011, to June 14, 2015. She led the Bildu party, which won the most votes in the 2011 local elections, and became mayor with the support of her party's councilors. During her term, the Sopelana City Council was the most significant institution governed by Bildu in Biscay.
