Sadguru Sivananda Murty (1928-2015) was a humanitarian, spiritual leader, and philosopher born into a royal family in Urlam, Andhra Pradesh. From a young age, he was deeply drawn to spiritual matters, especially yoga. After voluntarily retiring from the Andhra Pradesh Police Department, he dedicated his life to uplifting the underprivileged and raising awareness about the eternal truths of Hinduism. He had a large following both in India and abroad, residing in an ashram called Anandavanam located in Bhimunipatnam, Visakhapatnam. He authored numerous books on tradition and culture.
