Sachiko Saiki (May 28, 1913 - May 18, 1983) was a prominent Japanese photographer from Kyoto during the Showa era. She ran a photography studio in Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto, and dedicated her life’s work to capturing the cultures and landscapes along the Silk Road, focusing particularly on the lives and expressions of Bedouins. From the late 1960s, well before the Silk Road boom of the 1980s, she traveled extensively, publishing photo collections and holding exhibitions. Saiki passed away at the age of 69, and her early death was mourned by many, including notable figures like Ryotaro Shiba.
