Saburō Iwakawa was a Japanese composer born on September 9, 1923, in Toyama City, Japan. He graduated from the Tokyo Music School (now Tokyo University of the Arts) with a focus on vocal music in 1947. He later became a composer and studied under renowned composers Kōzaburō Hirai and Tomoji Ikeguchi. Iwakawa served as a director of the Japan Children's Song Association and was a professor at Yamaguchi University. He was also a member of the Japan Composers Association, contributing significantly to Japanese music history.
