S. R. Sankaran (1934-2010) was an Indian civil servant and social worker known for his contributions to the implementation of the Bonded Labour Act of 1976, which abolished bonded labor in India. He was one of the seven civil servants kidnapped by the People's War Group in 1987 and served as the chief negotiator for the state government in peace talks to end Naxal violence in Andhra Pradesh in 2004. He also advised the Safai Karamchari movement to eliminate manual scavenging in India. The Indian government awarded him the Padma Bhushan in 2005, which he declined.
