Ryūkō Oda was a Japanese religious figure born on February 7, 1913, in Hirosaki, Aomori. He was the founder of the 'Mitsumonkai,' a sect of Shingon Buddhism aimed at achieving immediate enlightenment through genuine esoteric practices. In 1984, he established the Showa Great Buddha in Aomori City, which features the largest bronze statue of Dainichi Nyorai in Japan. He passed away on December 31, 1993.
