Ryū Towada (出口 和明), born on August 15, 1930, was a Japanese writer and religious figure, grandson of Ōmoto founder Onisaburo Deguchi. He is known for his major work, 'Mother of the Earth,' a 12-volume biography of Deguchi Nao and a novel depicting the early history of Ōmoto. Under the pen names 'Nokami Ryū' and 'Towada Ryū,' he contributed to literature. From the 1970s, he engaged in religious reform movements within Ōmoto, founding the 'Izutomi Mizunokai' and later establishing the religious corporation 'Aizenen' in the 1980s.
