Ryōshin Takada was a Japanese monk, scholar, and historian of the Shōtoku sect. Born on February 22, 1941, in Nara Prefecture, he dedicated his life to the study and establishment of Hōryū-ji scholarship. He became a key figure in preserving cultural heritage, serving as the head priest of Hōki-ji and later as the 128th chief priest of Hōryū-ji. Takada authored numerous works on Hōryū-ji's history and significance, contributing greatly to Buddhist studies. He passed away on April 26, 2017, at the age of 76.
