Ryōhei Katō is a Japanese artistic gymnast born on September 9, 1993, in Shizuoka Prefecture. He achieved notable success at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, winning a gold medal in the team all-around competition alongside teammates Kenzo Shirai, Kohei Uchimura, Yūsuke Tanaka, and Koji Yamamuro. Katō also represented Japan at the 2012 Olympics, where he secured a silver medal, and he achieved further recognition at the World Championships with silver medals in the all-around in 2013 and the team competition in 2014. He has been studying at Juntendo University since 2012.
