Ruperto Donoso (November 10, 1914 - August 16, 2001) was a Chilean jockey renowned for his contributions to Thoroughbred horse racing. He gained fame for riding Phalanx to victory in the 1947 Belmont Stakes and achieved a notable second-place finish with Gilded Knight in the 1939 Preakness Stakes. After riding in Chile and Peru, Donoso moved to the United States, where he excelled despite a hiatus for military service in Chile. His career highlights include a significant victory in the Widener Challenge Cup at Hialeah Park.
