Rudolf Maliangkay was a Dutch correspondence chess player and painter, born on April 25, 1943. He became a Correspondence Grandmaster (GMc) with the ICCF in 1995. Maliangkay was the Dutch champion of correspondence chess in 1992. In addition to his chess career, he was known for painting chess-related artworks. He preferred the chess opening 1.e4, often leading to the Sicilian Defense, with other favored openings including the French Defense and the Caro-Kann. He passed away in October 2010.
