Rudolf 'Rudi' Linz (1917-1945) was a prominent Luftwaffe fighter ace in World War II, credited with 70 aerial victories, predominantly on the Eastern Front. He became an 'ace-in-a-day' on four notable occasions. Linz was killed in action on 9 February 1945 while defending the German destroyer Z33.
