Roy Cruttenden was a British long jumper born on February 18, 1925, in Brighton. He achieved notable success in his athletic career, finishing ninth in the long jump at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics and placing fifth for England at the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff. He was also a two-time English champion, winning titles in 1956 and 1957. Cruttenden set his personal best of 7.58 meters on December 5, 1956, in Sydney. He passed away on June 3, 2019, in his birthplace of Brighton.
