Ronald Gillespie (August 21, 1924 - February 26, 2021) was a British chemist known for his work in molecular engineering. He moved to Canada after receiving an offer that included a laboratory with new equipment post-World War II. He played a pivotal role in establishing inorganic chemistry education in Canada and was educated at the University of London. Gillespie was recognized as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the Royal Society in London, and he contributed significantly to theories in molecular geometry, particularly the Gillespie-Niholm theory.
