Romano Alquati was an Italian Marxist and proponent of Operaismo, born on February 11, 1935, in Clana, Istria, now part of Croatia, and died on April 3, 2010, in Turin. He focused on the empirical foundations of political work in factories, particularly through worker studies, rather than engaging with Neo-Marxism. His research on labor struggles at Fiat and Olivetti was published from 1961 to 1963 in the first three volumes of Quaderni Rossi and subsequently in Classe operaia.
