Roman Suszko was a Polish logician born on November 9, 1919, in Podobora, now part of Chotěbuz near Český Těšín. Influenced by Wittgenstein's Tractatus, he created and formalized a version of logic without Frege's axiom. In his logic, the principle that for two statements p and q, (p ↔ q) implies (p ≡ q) does not hold. He argued from Wittgenstein's concept of situations that the extension of statements is not limited to truth values of 1 and 0, introducing the connective ≡.
