Roel Reijntjes was a Drenthe poet born in Beilen in 1923 and passed away in 2003. He worked in various roles, including director of the electricity company and firefighter commander. Reijntjes became known as one of Drenthe's most famous writers through his poetry and shows in Drenthe's language. He lived in his parental home for his entire life, and his literary works first appeared in 'Oeze Volk' in 1956. After his death, his works were preserved at the Drents Archief.
