Robert 'Bob' Ramage was a renowned organic chemist from Glasgow, specializing in the synthesis and biosynthesis of natural products, peptides, and proteins. He completed his undergraduate degree and PhD in chemistry at the University of Glasgow, later pursuing his research interests at Harvard and Basel. Ramage held a lectureship and focused on peptide synthesis at Liverpool and UMIST before becoming the Forbes chair at the University of Edinburgh until retirement. In 1994, he founded Albachem, and was honored as a Fellow of various prestigious scientific societies.
