Robert Joensen was a Faroese civil servant, writer, and politician born on August 28, 1912, in Klaksvík. He worked at p/f J.F. Kjølbro and briefly studied at Aarhus and Copenhagen universities. When World War II broke out, he returned to the Faroe Islands and became municipal secretary in Klaksvík, a position he held until 1982. Joensen was passionate about Faroese history and culture, authoring several books and articles alongside a significant body of poetry. He passed away on May 19, 1997.
