Robert Dafforn was a British flying ace in the Royal Air Force during World War II, credited with downing at least eight enemy aircraft. He was born on March 2, 1916, in Horton, Berkshire, and began his RAF training just before the war. Dafforn served in No. 501 Squadron and participated in significant battles, including the Battle of France. After a commendable stint and instructing duties, he was assigned to Malta. He died in a flying accident on September 9, 1943, after returning from active service.
