Risuke Ōtake (1926-2021) was a renowned Japanese martial artist and shihan of Tenshin Shōden Katori Shintō-ryū, beginning his training in 1942. In 1967, he achieved the highest level of attainment in this tradition and became its teaching master. Residing near Narita city, Ōtake was recognized as a guardian of this Intangible Cultural Asset of Chiba Prefecture since 1960. He authored several influential works, including 'Strategy and the Art of Peace' and 'The Deity and the Sword.' He served on the Chiba Prefecture Board of Registrars and Appraisers for Muskets and Swords from 1979 until his passing in 2021.
