Rinat Safin was a Russian biathlete who represented the Soviet Union during the 1960s and 1970s. Born in Olı Cäke on August 29, 1940, he competed in the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo, achieving notable success in biathlon. He won a gold medal as part of the 4x7.5 km relay team alongside Aleksandr Tíkhonov, Viktor Mamatov, and Ivan Byakov, while he finished nineteenth in the 20 kilometers event. Safin also secured four gold and two silver medals at the Biathlon World Championships during his career.
