Rihab Taha is an Iraqi scientist who was tasked by former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein with developing a biological weapons program. She is married to former oil minister Amer Mohammed Rashid and specializes in microbiology. Taha earned her PhD in plant toxins from the University of East Anglia in England between 1980 and 1984. She began her work in weapons of mass destruction at the temporary biological weapons program in the Al-Muthanna facility and later moved to its permanent location. She was nicknamed 'Dr. Germ' and 'Mrs. Anthrax' by American and British media for her alleged role in developing biological weapons.
