Rie van Rossum, born Maria Elisabeth Dijkstra-van Rossum, was a Dutch writer and teacher who lived in Ljouwert from 1941. She debuted in 1934 with 'Kloof zonder brug' and authored over 10 novels and 30 children's books, including the well-known Gijs Grapjas and Koen en Koosje series. From 1948, she wrote a column under the name Saskia in the Ljouwerter Krante for over twenty years and was originally part of the Jong-Protestantske Auteursrûnte.
