Richard Webster was a British pole vaulter born on December 31, 1914 in St Albans. He competed in the 1936 Berlin Olympics, achieving a sixth-place finish with a national record of 4.00 meters. In 1937, he won at the International Student Games. He placed fourth at the 1938 British Empire Games in Sydney and seventh at the 1938 European Athletics Championships in Paris. He also competed in the 1948 London Olympics but did not advance past the qualifying rounds. Webster was a three-time English outdoor champion and a four-time indoor champion.
