Richard Shaw (1920–2010) was an English actor known for his roles in iconic sci-fi series such as Quatermass and Doctor Who, alongside a key role in the children's show Freewheelers. He appeared frequently on British television from the 1950s to the 1970s, often in crime films and series. Notably, he played significant roles in The Dirty Dozen and Coronation Street. Shaw was also noted for his Jewish heritage and military service in WWII, changing his name from Maximillian Shalofsky to Richard Shaw during his late teens. He was related to jazz trumpeter Hank Shaw.
