Richard Thomas Martin Pescott (1905-1986) was an influential Australian botanist who served as the Director of the National Museum of Victoria from 1944 to 1957, and subsequently as the Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne until his retirement in 1970. In addition, he held the role of President of the Royal Society of Victoria during the years 1963-1964. He was also known to be the nephew of prominent Australian naturalist Edward Edgar Pescott.
