Richard L. Neu was an American cytogeneticist born on March 12, 1936, in Syracuse, New York. He made significant contributions to the field of genetics, most notably describing what is now known as the Neu-Laxova syndrome in 1971. Neu was affiliated with various institutions including SUNY Upstate Medical Center and the University of South Florida, and he published over 100 scientific papers throughout his career. He passed away on August 3, 2007.
