Reinhard Hofbauer was a German architect born on August 18, 1907, known for his work in Catholic sacred architecture. He initially studied philosophy and art history before pursuing architecture in Munich and Braunschweig. After a stint as a freelance painter from 1932 to 1934, he established architecture firms in Wetzlar and Berlin after 1945. He gained national recognition for the now-lost St. Canisius church in Berlin-Charlottenburg and built innovative modern churches in the Limburg diocese.
