Regina Helena Simões de Mello Leitão was a Brazilian businesswoman, born on August 28, 1912, in Salvador. She served as president of Grupo A Tarde, a major media conglomerate founded by her father, Ernesto Simões Filho. Known as the first lady of Bahian journalism, she managed the family's business after her father's death until her passing on May 3, 2012. Regina was internationally recognized and frequently visited the Plaza Athénée hotel in Paris, where she had a regular suite. She was also friends with Hollywood star Greta Garbo.
