Raymond Victor Steed was a young British services recruit who tragically lost his life during World War II at the age of 14 years and 207 days. He served as a galley boy on the SS Empire Morn, which was destroyed by a U-boat mine on 26 April 1943. Initially recorded as the youngest British serviceman to die, this claim was later revised in 2010 when it was determined that Reginald Earnshaw was actually younger at the time of his death.
