Raymond Moullec was a French rear admiral born on March 21, 1901, in Brest. He began his career at École navale in 1919 and later served as a naval attaché in Madrid during the Spanish Civil War, sympathizing with the republican side. He aided Norwegian sailors during WWII and was awarded the Krigskorset. Moullec joined the Free French Forces under Charles de Gaulle after 1940, and after the war, engaged politically with the Union des républicains progressistes.
