Ranjit Poojari Naik (1933-2004) was an influential architect and social worker dedicated to improving the lives of Mumbai's slum dwellers. He actively participated in about 50 slum redevelopment initiatives and served as the director of the People's Participation Programme. An advocate for the Banjara community, he notably presented a paper on the Banjara people at the 1978 World Romani Conference. At his passing, he held leadership roles in the All-India Banjara Seva Sangh and the Sevalal Maharaj Charitable Trust, reflecting his commitment to social service.
