He was an influential figure in the Dominican cooperative movement, recognized as a pioneering leader. Ditrén Díaz was a well-respected master builder, cooperativist, essayist, poet, and storyteller. He played a significant role in establishing the Association of Master Builders and served as the Executive Vice President of the Institute for Development and Cooperative Credit (IDECOOP). He passed away on March 22, 2010, in Santo Domingo.
