He played as a forward in the SM-sarja from 1948 to 1963, almost entirely representing HIFK. Lindström contributed to the team's first medal win in 1955 and played in 22 international matches, featuring in two World Championships. Known for his skilled deceptions and fiery temperament, he was often the focus of referees' attention. He was also known as 'Snaibeli,' a nickname influenced by cellist Snaibl Rastenberg.
