Radha Prasad Gupta (December 14, 1920 - March 9, 2000) was a pioneering figure in modern public relations, a distinguished writer, and an expert researcher in the history of Kolkata. He was known as 'R P' in intellectual circles of Kolkata and was affectionately called 'Shantul' or 'Shantul Gupta' by close friends. Gupta was considered the last descendant of the Babu class of Kolkata from the 19th century, and he held a significant influence on literature and culture.
