Radek Tomášek is a Czech singer, songwriter, lyricist, and guitarist born on June 3, 1946, in Prague. After completing high school, he studied mechanical engineering at the Czech Technical University, graduating in 1970. He was a member of the renowned band Rangers from 1966 to 1973. He left the band to pursue a solo career and has performed with various backing bands. He frequently performs with his son, Radek Tomášek mladší, who is also a successful musician. Additionally, he has acted, notably playing a museum director in the 2009 Czech film Pamětnice.
