Born in February 1929 in Andhra Pradesh, he held significant roles in the Law Commission and the Law Ministry, where he rose to the rank of Secretary. Peri Sastri was instrumental in drafting key amendments to the Indian Constitution and advocated for electoral reforms, including lowering the voting age and initiating the use of Electronic Voting Machines.
