Qi Shirong was a prominent Chinese historian born on October 29, 1926, in Lianyungang, Jiangsu, originating from Nampi in present-day Hebei. He served as a professor in the History Department at Beijing Normal University (now Capital Normal University) and was a doctoral advisor as well as the university's president. Additionally, he held the position of vice president of the Chinese Historical Society, contributing significantly to the field of history in China. Qi passed away on December 3, 2015.
