Qasım Gül (December 31, 1909 – May 30, 1972) was a prominent Azerbaijani geographer, founder of the oceanology school in Azerbaijan, and a Doctor of Geographical Sciences. He served as a professor and a corresponding member of the Azerbaijan SSR Academy of Sciences. Gül was also a navigator, captain, educator, scientist, and public figure. He authored over 50 books and monographs, as well as hundreds of journal and newspaper articles, gaining recognition for his passionate defense of the ecology and fish resources of the Caspian Sea.
