Konstantin Petrovich Matveev was a Soviet and Russian philosopher and historian of Assyrian descent, born on December 10, 1934, in Voronezh and passing away on July 2, 2003, in Moscow. He specialized in the history of international relations and national liberation movements in the Middle East, as well as the ethnography and culture of Assyrians in the first half of the 20th century. Matveev held a Doctorate in Philosophy and was a member of the Soviet Journalists' Union.
