Lin Zhu Yu (born December 29, 1915, in Shanghai; died August 11, 1975) was a Chinese linguist, translator, and educator from Chao Yang, Guangdong. He is known for coining the term 'comparative scriptology' in 1937, becoming one of the first scholars to use and discuss this concept in detail. He published under various pen names, including Xia Ying and Ping Ping.
