Hung Chao-nan, born on August 24, 1943, is a member of the Chinese Nationalist Party who served as a legislator for eight terms from 1981 to 2005 and a supervisory committee member from 2008 to 2014. He was the first legislator to publicly call for the release of political prisoners from the 228 Incident during Taiwan's martial law period and played a significant role in securing the release of all surviving political inmates. Known for his outspoken nature, he has been praised for his sharp questioning in legislative sessions.
