Alexander Nikolayevich Sharkov was a Soviet economic, state, and political figure. He was a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences. Born in 1931 in Saratov, Sharkov joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and worked in various engineering and managerial positions from 1954 to 2004, including roles at Uralvagonzavod and Uraltransmash. He was the recipient of the State Prize of the USSR in 1978 and was honored as an honorary citizen of Yekaterinburg.
