Jakub Ilyich Paretski (September 29, 1913 – November 13, 1992) was a Belarusian literary scholar, translator, and linguist. He graduated from the Lida Gymnasium in 1932 and later taught Latin at the Minsk Institute of Foreign Languages. Paretski researched the culture of Belarus from the 16th to 18th centuries, ancient languages, and the works of Latin poets. He authored several monographs including 'Simion Budny' and translated works from Latin and Polish to Russian.
