Nikolai Alekseevich Chernoplekov (March 6, 1930 - August 4, 2008) was a Soviet and Russian scientist known for his contributions to nuclear physics. He became a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1991 and was a two-time laureate of the State Prize of the USSR in 1976 and 1986. In 2006, he was recognized as a Distinguished Scientist of the Russian Federation for his significant contributions to the field.
