He authored over 300 scientific publications in leading medical journals in the USSR, Russia, and Ukraine, along with 3 monographs. Medvedenko held more than 20 patented inventions and over 100 rationalization proposals. He served as the director of the Donetsk City Laser Center until 2014 and was a professor at the department of physician improvement and Surgical Diseases No. 1 at Donetsk National Medical University named after M. Gorky.
