Grigory Pavlovich Grodensky (1904-1978) was a Soviet editor of children's literature and author of popular science books. Born into a family of artisans, he studied at Leningrad University. He worked as an educator and teacher of biology from 1925 and collaborated with children's publications in Leningrad and Moscow starting in 1929. During World War II, he served as a sniper and later as a literary collaborator for a military newspaper, receiving several honors for his service. Post-war, he was an editor at the Leningrad branch of Detgiz and maintained a friendship with Vitaly Bianki.
